I’m delighted to share my first monthly newsletter with you, the first of many to come. Each month I will share my thoughts on the current astro-weather, news on my various astrological projects and details of talks I’ll be giving either online or in-person at conferences. Please feel free to let me know if there’s anything in particular you’d like me to write about!
2025 So Far!
Well, it’s been busy! My book, Juno, More Than Meets The Eye was published in February, with sales continuing to do well, and leading to many talks for various associations Juno – Lianne McCafferty
Do watch out for the eBook version which will be launched this autumn. The next two books in the Shining New Light series will be published in 2026.
My publishing projects extend even further though, as I will finally be publishing a novel that has been gestating for several years. It is a dual-time magical realism story rich in astrological symbolism, mainly of Lilith; believe it or not, it actually includes the natal charts of the main characters! I hope it will appeal to wide range of readers, from those who are astrologically savvy to anyone who just loves a fabulous mystical read. It will certainly take you on a journey of empowerment.
Spring brought a run of in-person conferences; in May I spoke at The Mayo Hybrid Conference in London, followed by the ASPAS conference in Porto.
In June I travelled to Turkey to speak at the Istanbul Astrology Conference 2025, which, inspired by one of the talks I gave there, led to the publication of my eBook Intellectual Revolution in July, which you can find through this link INTELLECTUAL REVOLUTION – Lianne McCafferty
Over the Summer, I launched a new podcast, An Astrologer’s Calling, in which I enjoy informal chats with astrologers, delving into their astrological journeys. It has been incredibly well- received – far beyond my expectations – so thank you everyone who has embraced it. As this newsletter is published, I will have just returned from the Astrological Association Conference in Nottingham where I gave two talks.
I now have a more time to reflect as the autumn is a little quieter regarding conferences (so far), which also graces me some time to dedicate to my publishing work. I’ll be speaking at the AOA Online conference in December, and looking much further ahead, I am excited to be speaking at UAC 2026. Other speaking engagements for the last quarter of 2025 will be announced soon…
Finally, in 2024 I was honoured to join the board of the Scottish Astrological Association, and now, in 2025 I am similarly honoured that I have also been elected as a trustee for the Astrological Association. So, along with my continued role as a tutor for the Mayo School of Astrology and my client work, there’s never a dull moment!
September’s Astro-Weather
I’m sure you can all feel that we on the verge of a profound shift. A sense of out with the old, in with the new, as though there’s new teeth pushing out the old. But first, there’s still some reflection needed, some clearing up, described by Saturn returning to Pisces on the 1st of September until 14th February 2026. Saturn triggering the anaretic 29th degree of Pisces might feel a little crises ridden or confusing even, as though you’re swimming in circles once more, unsure of your way forward. Or, caught in a current of doubt around any new initiatives you may had started over the summer. For many of us, everything still feels like heavy weather, perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel still seems far away. The dreams we want to manifest into reality are just at our fingertips, but we can’t quite grasp them. All the changes we want to make can’t quite be pushed forward. We might not know quite who or what to believe in still.
Use this time to reflect and reshape your dreams and plans. Perhaps you need a little time to retreat and cool off after the dip we’ve had into the fire of Aries this summer. This is echoed somewhat by Uranus turning retrograde on the 6th before heading back into Taurus in December. Something transformational is taking place, an alchemical process; the world is a cauldron pot at the minute, mixing up something new. It’s the old vs the new. New teeth pushing out the old. Be patient – it will be full steam ahead soon enough, so use this time to re-assess or make any tweaks/adjustments to your wider plans and goals. A square between Mars and Jupiter on the 5th will help with your vision regarding this.
Of course, we can’t ignore the fact we’re now into eclipse season! A lunar eclipse at 15Pisces on the 7th, a super charged full moon is particularly reflective and balsamic, and brings the culmination of the seed planted at the new moon on 23rd August at 00Virgo. This is a dragon’s head eclipse (conjunct the North Node), bringing energy that might encourage you to consider all you have achieved so far, but also what needs to be left behind in order for you to write your next story or chapter, to imagine what the fruits of your labour can bring. Perhaps ask yourself what might still need editing in your life?
A few days after this, on the 12th and 13th, the Sun and Mercury form a conjunction which is a sextile Jupiter; grand plans, vision, the courage to speak and write from the heart. Follow where your mind leads, seek opportunity and formulate your next steps.
The partial solar eclipse at 29Virgo on the 21st – yet another anaretic degree being triggered – again encourages us to think anew; we can’t move forward fully if we are carrying excess baggage, clutter, dust and debris from the past. Edit, edit, edit, clean, clean, clean – lighten your load in order to move into a new era in order to bring the end of an old chapter. This is a dragon’s tail eclipse (conjunct the South Node), which echoes the theme of moving forward rather than back whilst carrying the best of ourselves rather than the shadow. For some context, the last time a solar eclipse occurred at 29Virgo was September 2006, another dragons’ tail, so please do reflect back to that particular period in your life; the insights gained will be invaluable.
With the latter part of the month coloured by the solar eclipse, I must also mention another fertile energy on offer, but one that operates on a deeper, more evolutionary level. On the 9th Pluto and Haumea, a trans-Neptunian planet, perfect a square at 010 38’’ of Aquarius and Scorpio, one of several exactments through 2022-2028 between 02Libra/Capricorn and 06Aquarius/Scorpio (although please extend these dates by a few years either side as these planets are so slow moving). Mars enters Scorpio on the 22nd and will trigger this square by forming a conjunction with Haumea on the 25th. Both outer planets are about life and death, Haumea in particular associated with birth and regeneration. For perspective, the second exactment of this square in June 2022, coincided exactly with the Roe vs Wade scenario in the US, where the US Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to abortion. Watch out for similar themes in the news around reproductive rights, including genetic innovations, and also developments around end of life choices. I cannot mention these placements without referring to the last time Mars formed a conjunction with Haumea in October 2023, which coincided with the Hamas led attacks on Israel and the hostage taking, some of whom have still not been released. In a Facebook post on the 12th October 2023, I wrote, “Today Mars is conjunct Haumea at 00Scorpio. The last time this occurred was 1769, the last of several conjunctions in Scorpio which began in 1744. This period coincided with the likes of the beginning of the British Empire in India, the colonisation of America and the Seven Years War, in with the European superpowers fought in Europe and the Americas. The American Revolution began. Captain Cook was exploring New Zealand. This is about fighting for ownership of land, and now we see it again with the terrible events in Israel. This is the worst manifestation of Mars and Haumea in Scorpio – brutal death and destruction. In Humans myth she repeatedly gave birth to babies from various parts of her body, and the reports of babies being brutally slaughtered is utterly heartbreaking. This aspect will repeat in Scorpio a further 15 times until 2048. It is not to be underestimated…” Perhaps we will see further news around the Israel/Hamas situation in the last week of September?
